Lizzie & Ali

As owners of multiple dogs, we have found it increasingly difficult to take them out as a pack, to safe places free from (too many) people. My 5 range from 2 to 13 years old, 4 Spaniels and 1 Lab cross. The old girl has had additional health problems most of her life, with the added issue of arthritis, she has really slowed down over the last few years.

Part of the idea for Leads Away came from the problem of exercising them altogether, as the old girl didn't like being left behind and rightly so, but due to their differing needs, with the younger one wanting to run and play and the older ones happier to sniff around, this left us needing to have eyes everywhere at the same time. We just needed somewhere safe where they could be let off lead to run free but also a place with amazing smells and plenty of enrichment to engage their inquisitive minds. And so the planning began...

Quite simply for us it was about finding a safe and secure place to let our dogs run and sniff, without worrying if there will be sheep in the next field. We often go hiking with them but due to livestock we keep them on their leads, now they have somewhere to have the freedom all dogs need.
